We’re about to address ALL the lash extension myths!
Myth #1: Lash extensions are painful.
Lash extensions are not painful! The application, upkeep or “fill”appointments, and even removal are completely painless. Lash artists are trained and expierenced in all things lashes, and there is no reason for a painful appointment. If someone said their lash extension appointment was painful, their lash artist may have not been doing something right.
Myth #2: Lash extensions damage your natural lashes.
Lash extensions do not damage your natural lashes as long as quality materials are used and applied by a trained lash artist. During your first lash appointment, your stylist uses specific techniques so that your eyelashes can grow properly. Improper education or materials can damage your natural lashes. One of the GOLDEN RULES of lashing – NEVER remove eyelash extensions yourself. To safely remove lash extensions and to protect your own, please let a professional remove your extensions!
Myth #3: All lash artists are the same.
As you can see from Myth #1 and #2, not all lash artists are the same! This goes for nearly every attribute of a lash artist. Attributes include lash techniques, lash training, experience and styles.
Myth #4: Lash extensions are way too dramatic.
Not all lash extensions are dramatic! They can be customized to your desired style, length, thickness and even curl! We currently offer Classic, Hybrid, Volume and Mega Volume lashes. Even these styles can be customized further to accentuate your face and eye shape.
Myth #5: Only the younger generation gets them.
Everyone looks great with lash extensions! We have seen women of ALL ages get lash extensions. All of our services are not limiteed to any age group. We want everyone to feel welcome to book any of our services.
Myth #6: Lash extensions are new and pobably not safe.
Strip lash extensions have been around for decades but modern-day lash extensions, where lash technicians apply the extensions to individual lashes came about around 2004 in America. Korea and Japan had been applying individual false lashes for about 30 years prior. Lash extensions are safe for nearly everyone. There is the rare occassion where someone may be allergic to the glue and have a minor reaction. Before a lash appointment each guest completes paperwork and if they have any allergies, the lash tech may do a patch test to ensure thee guest won’t have a reaction.
Myth #7: Lash extensions are minimal upkeep.
It’s true that lash extensions offer a seamless lifestyle – no need for eyeliner or mascara and no neeed to remove the makeup each night! However, you will still need to wash them everyday with lash shampoo and go to your fill appointments as needed!
Myth #8: Lash extensions are one size fits all.
Lashes are not one size fits all! Lashes can be customized, changed, and altered to fit your preference. Lashes also aren’t for everyone! If you can’t stick with the upkeep or maintenance it may not be an option for you.
Myth #9: You should not get your lash extensions wet.
False! Well almost entirely false1 We do recommend to not get your lashes wet for 24-48 hours after they have been applied or filled. After that, you should get your lashes wet at least once a day to clean with lash shampoo. Additionally, with proper care you can still swim and shower!
